Week Two: Getting More Involved

 Mary Fayta

2-4-21

Today the students stuck to their regular schedule. But my CT informed me that she will be moving the reading groups around so that the students who are at the same reading level are grouped together. My CT uses a lot of worksheets and she does them along with the students. She hopes that the students are following along and she asks them to follow along, but if they don't there is nothing she can do which can be hard. I think that she could incorporate more interactive lessons into her daily schedule. Instead of having the students each write on their own, the teacher should make an interactive Google slide for them to work on. This would not only engage the students more but it would also allow the teacher to see exactly what each child is doing. This would also ensure that each child has the materials because the teacher could easily send it to them.

Today I was excited because my CT has finally added me to GoGuardian. It was a lot of fun monitoring the students and they even messaged me a few times with questions. It was cute that they called me Mrs. Fayta. I think it will be a bit challenging for me to come up with a math lesson soon as I have only seen the students work on some subtraction. But, today my CT talked with me and gave me some lesson topic ideas which was really nice and helpful.

  1. Hey Mary! I'm glad you were able to get access to Go Guardian, I like how we are able to monitor the students and make sure they stay on task. You can make sure your lesson is interactive for the kids to get them more engaged.
